He did it! He's become a feeder and a grower and gets to drop down to the least critical section of the NICU the Lily Pad where they send the babies that either need to grow to go home, or need to eat enough (we're hoping in Koby's case by mouth) to survive on their own. Way to go Koby!

Another spa day!
Koby's occupational therapist has noticed he's quite alert and works his muscles out quite well with her around 8:00am. She knew he's been sleepy during several of his speech therapy sessions which has pen around 11am or 2pm so she got the bright idea to give him some hydrotherapy right before his next speech therapy session. He stretched and kicked his legs and loved the feeling of the bubbles. I was surprised at how much he loved it, to me it looked like he even smiled.

After his spa he got a stimulating massage and she showed me how I can do the same for him when I want to get him alert. He didn't love the stimulating massage as much but we had him ready to rock and roll for speech therapy and he did. Koby took in 5ml of milk all on his own and even smacked his lips and several sucks one after another instead of a few with long pauses in between. It was so encouraging to me. He may learn to eat through his mouth yet!!!

His day ended with some visitors Steve's business partner and good friend Chris & his wife Chantelle stopped by to see Koby who just happened to be awake. It's so neat to see all these good things happening.
