Family Pictures with Kaylie the toddler

I don't know where the crazy idea came from, blame it on the pregnancy hormones now that I can actually admit I have them. I just got the idea that we had to get a family picture done. I felt that I should stop at nothing to get it accomplished. For a point of reference let me just add that I came up with this idea the week before Easter. I finally got the pictures in my possession last Tuesday. My hope was to make a darling Easter package for each of our parents and then mail it with a current family picture. This meant coordinating outfits, cooperation and also all of the family members being well. Within a few days I had strep, then Kaylie had a ruptured eardrum. I seriously contemplated taking Kaylie in even with an ear infection just to get the finished product, a family picture. Well, she got fever blisters. Kinzy didn't prepare us for real parenthood. She was so easy and we never appreciated that. I just thought I was an awesome mom. Kaylie has more than humbled me in every area of parenting. I quickly learned I really knew nothing about parenting, and still don't know much. When it came time for pictures Kinzy was so fun. She'd smile let me fix her up, it was a breeze. Kaylie takes a circus of me and Steve, the photographer plus a helper, a bag of tricks, and a whole lot of prayers just to get her to hold still, forget the smiling part. So here is what we ended up with. I hope these pictures can paint a small pictures of what we went through to get what we got. It was worth it and I know I'll feel that even more so in 50 years.

Sharalee,

I just started smiling and laughing when I read this post because I can relate to it so much. Derek and Owen are almost exactly the same way when I take them to get their pictures taken. Derek is all smiles and perfect and Owen just won't sit still or behave. I think you pictures turned out great. I love the one of the girls lying on the ground with the flowers. Gorgeous. Your family picture turned out great. It is always a crazy ordeal but nothing puts a smile on my face like great pictures.

I'm not sure how I happened upon your blog, but I'm glad I did! Congratulations on #3!. Hold on tight and get ready for the ride. Sounds like your family is turning out a little bit like mine. 1st one is pretty easy and agreeable, 2nd one VERY energetic but sweet and wonderful. I won't tell you about my #3's personality, or my #4's. I'll just tell you that we haven't had a family picture that has turned out in YEARS!
