And the Answer Is....

Well this was a long awaited day for us. Imagine trying to hold in this news for almost four months! Last week, after we found out the baby WAS A BOY we wanted to tell the whole world. Most of you know why this is such a shock to us. But for those of you who don't know Sharalee has a genetic mutation called incontinentia pigmenti. Basically it is a skin disease that our children can get passed down through her. If a girl has the mutation (which Sharalee had when she was a baby)she will be ok and survive but will have some skin rashes and minor issues until she is one year old. But if a boy has the mutation he will always die before birth. We have lost three babies already, which were most likely boys.

I figured we would never have any boys, which would be ok because we absolutely love our girls so much. But deep down we both hoped a boy would come into our family some day. And now we will have a boy in our family!! Yeah! In church on Sunday I realized that this means we would have a missionary from our family some day, and I am definitely excited for that!!

Also we felt kind of embarrassed showing our boy's private parts but he hopefully won't find out that we posted his privates on the internet:)

Congratulations! Boys are a thrill a minute! I am sure he will be as gorgeous as your girls! Way to keep a secret.
