I hate to get too cheesy but wow! Steve is so great. Steve just proved how tough he truly is both physically and mentally. This past weekend Steve ran the St. Judes Memphis marathon. He trained all by himself and was running this all by himself so I really wanted to be there and cheer him on. I think he attributes the desire to do this to turning 30 this year. I was so inspiring to watch him as he prepared for this event. He set a goal, did his research, planned a regiment, and acheived was he set out to do. I tried not to get discouraged as I just missed Steve within seconds at the first few mile markers. It was bitterly cold, and in the beginning there was a lot of traffic. I wasn't very familiar with the course or the city so thank goodness my phone has a GPS system in it. Finally I pulled over and said a prayer, I said "Please, Steve is running this alone and I really want to be there for him" miraculously I was able to meet him four times along the run and even at the finish line. It was fun to get him the things he needed like granola bars, chapstick and stuff like that. Kyle and I even ran a quarter of a mile with him and that was fun too.
Thank you so much family and friends for your support in doing this, thank you for cheering Steve on, watching our children, and thinking of us. Thanks to the Hissong's for letting us stay at their cute place in Memphis the night before the race.
