Kinzy's preschool (Bethlehem United Methodist Church Preschool) took a different spin on Christmas than we've ever taken. It was a Happy Birtday Jesus party! The kids still exchanged gifts amongst themselves and the teacher, but they added a cake blew out candles and sang Happy Birthday to Jesus too!

That is funny. When we lived in Texas I had tons of LDS friends that took on this tradition. Christmas morning they would have a cake with candles and sing Happy Birthday.
I wondered if I would recognize any of the children. Good memories of that preschool.
Sharalee & Kinzy,
Celebrating Christ's birth with a cake is one way to think about the reason for the season. I actually remember when Dan was only four years old, he asked me if we could make a birthday cake for Jesus one Christmas. He had explained that he had a dream of seeing Jesus in the clouds and giving him a big warm hug. Jesus asked him to be sure to remember his birthday, and when I showed Danny every picture of Christ I had, he said the one with Jesus coming in the clouds, dressed in white for the Second Coming looked the most like the Savior, so that picture has always been very special to me.
Love,
Grammy & Marianne
